Real Madrid finally confirmed the Kylian Mbappe signing on dotted lines as the Los Blancos signed the French star on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain. Mbappe, who is preparing for Euro Cup with France, was a free agent after the PSG contract came to an end and the speculation regarding his move to Real Madrid has gone on for too long and now both the parties have finally agreed to a five-year deal.
As per Sky Sports, Mbappe will be paid a €15 million salary per year (INR 135.8 crore) by Real Madrid with an increment extending it to €20 along with a signing bonus of €100 million (INR 905 crore approx.) "Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappé have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons," the Champions League winners said in a statement announcing the transfer.
As soon as the club confirmed the news, Mbappe acknowledged it on his social media with his pictures from childhood being a Real Madrid fan. One of the pictures was him at the Valdebebas training ground goofing around Cristiano Ronaldo. "A dream come true," Mbappé wrote. "So happy and proud to join the club of my dream, Real Madrid. Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support. Hala Madrid!"
Madrid had made previous attempts to get Mbappe. It was in 2021 when the first attempt was made when Madrid offered him €200million as transfer fees on deadline date. That didn't work out, however, a year later, there were quite positive talks between the two parties but Mbappe decided to renew his contract with PSG but has finally committed this time around.
Mbappe joins Madrid, shortly after the La Liga club became the Champions League holders for the 15th time. Mbappe's inclusion makes the forward line for Madrid even more scary as he joins the likes of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.
In 308 appearances since 2017, Mbappe scored record 256 goals for the French club PSG. During his tenure, Mbappe won six Ligue 1 titles, three French Cups and two league titles and will begin a new chapter with Madrid now with the same aim, of winning titles.
