Bangalore: Former Team India hero Yuvraj Singh hit a fiery 123 runs off 89 runs as India A thrashed West Indies A by 77 runs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Sunday.
Yusuf Pathan scored 70 runs off 32 balls, his major comeback after being dropped from the national team after his disastrous performance in the Asia Cup 2012 in Dhaka.
Put in to bat, skipper Yuvraj and Yusuf scored 125 runs off just 55 balls in their fourth wicket partnership, as India recovered from a poor start to post a commanding 312 runs.
The match was reduced to 42 overs-a-side after the contest was delayed by two hours owing to overnight rain.
In the West Indies A innings, Yusuf Pathan claimed two wickets as the visitors were bundled out for 235 in 39.1 overs.
Narsingh Deonarine and Ashley Nurse scored 57 runs each. Karnataka seamer R Vinay Kumar, coming in replacement for Praveen Kumar, claimed the wickets of Nkrumah Bonner (16) and Kieran Powell (17) to reduce the visitors to 47 for 2.
Medium pacer Sumit Narwal and leg-spinner Rahul Sharma also claimed two wickets each.
21-year-old Manjeet Singh, who cracked a half century against New Zealand 'A' last week, scored 67 runs off 78 balls for India A.
Manjeet had a 100-run third wicket partnership with Yuvraj.
Yuvraj reached his fifty in 60 balls with one boundary and two sixes. Thereafter, he hit five fours and three sixes off 20 balls to get his first century of the season and his 17th ton in List 'A' matches.
