Mumbai Indians have confirmed their list of retained and released players ahead of the 2025 edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL). After winning the inaugural edition, the team led by Harmanpreet Kaur couldn't defend the title last year losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the eliminator. However, the former champions have kept their faith in most of the players who featured in the previous edition.
The team is believing in continuity it seems as MI just released four players and retained as many as 14 of them. Issy Wong is one of the major international players released. The England fast bowler had also picked up a hat trick and she will be back in auction this time around. Among three other players released by the franchise are - Priyanka Bala, Humairaa Kaazi and Fatima Jaffer.
They have a purse of Rs 2.65 crore left now, the second least among all five teams after Delhi Capitals.
"With a heavy heart, with bid goodbye (for now!) to four of our clutch players, who gave us so much joy over the last two years.
