Brisbane, Australia: Allrounder James Faulkner has ruled out an early return to the Australian team, saying he has "no chance" of playing in the host's second World Cup game against Bangladesh on Saturday.
Faulkner, who has been sidelined for the last two weeks with a side strain, said Monday that despite unencumbered while batting in the nets, he is yet to resume bowling or fielding at training.
"I'm no chance for Bangladesh, I can tell you that," he said. "We're not too sure (when). Time's sort of flown a bit, but hopefully I'm back sooner rather than later."
Fellow allrounders Glen Maxwell and Mitch Marsh performed well in Faulkner's absence Saturday in an opening 111-run win over England. Maxwell made 66 off 63 balls, while Marsh claimed five wickets.
