Kingston, Jamaica, June 18: Former captain Chris Gayle's future with West Indies cricket is in doubt after a clear-the-air meeting with the region's top cricket officials failed to defuse their dispute.
The West Indies Cricket Board says leading officials, including coach Ottis Gibson, met with Gayle this week in Kingston to discuss his criticisms of them and to explain why he hasn't been picked for the series against Pakistan and India.
The WICB says Gayle's behavior has generated ill-will that makes it “difficult” for Caribbean cricket to “harmoniously function.”
The board was due to receive a report on Friday of this week's meeting, and decide Gayle's future with the team. AP
