New Zealand won the opening match of the series by 81 runs after winning the test series 3-0 and sharing the one-day series 2-2.
   
The West Indies made two changes, naming wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin in place of Samuel Badree and Jason Holder in place of Kieran Powell.
