Why Virat Kohli-Ravi Shastri combination has successfully injected 'killer instinct' into Team India!

New Delhi: The aggressive approach of Team India's new Test captain Virat Kohli has been widely debated of late in cricketing world. Be it his fascination with fast bowlers, preference for playing with 5 specialist

“Ravi Shastri is one person who would help you a lot if you are willing to listen to him. Since Kohli holds him in high esteem, they are bound to click as a team,” opined Chetan Sharma.

Should India stop hiring foreign coaches?

The success of Kohli-Shastri combination has reignited the debate over whether India needs foreigners as coaches.

There are many cricket experts who believe that it does not behove India's stature to appoint foreign coaches because the country has produced many world class cricketers who can shoulder the responsibility.  Some of them even said that appointing foreign coaches in Indian subcontinent is a reflection of continuing hangover of colonial rule in this part of the world.

“I have always been against appointing foreign coaches. Since foreign coaches are not well versed with players and local playing conditions, they can't produce results expected from them,” Chetan Sharma pointed out.

“Apart from Gary Kirsten who was part of the World Cup winning team, no other foreign coach was a success. And it substantiates my position that India does not a foreign coach,” Chetan added.
