Chandigarh, Mar 9: Team India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has taken over as the Senior Superintendent of Police in Punjab. He will report to Punjab Police HQ at Barnala.
Says Bhajji: "I feel excited and honoured for this new role".
Having played his 100th Test in Chennai, Harbhajan expressed his hope that he would discharge his responsibility of the uniform with honour and dignity.
Harbhajan Singh said, for a man hailing from a commoner's background, this was a great day for him. He credits this to cricket and his family's well wishes.
Harbhajan owns several vehicles, including a black Hummer. "Any number of Hummers or Ferraris you may have, a police Gypsy or an Ambassador car has an elan of its own."
Though Harbhajan failed to get a good number of wickets in the first two Tests against Australia, he continues to find a place in the team and is hopeful of better days.
