The on field controversies and ugly picture of the IPL

New Delhi: The cash rich league of Cricket that is Indian Premiere League has witnessed some of the amazing performances by the players in the field. But there are numerous incidents when the players lost their ‘cool' and got involved in spats and verbal duels which makes one thinks that whether cricket is really a gentlemen's game. The latest on field spat between Mitchell Starc of RCB and Kieron Pollard of MI goes on to prove this point.Harbhajan Singh and S Sreesanth:The slap gate incident between two Indian players Harbhajan Singh and S Sreesanth is the most widely discussed and the oldest incident in the IPL history. It is also one of the incidents in the history of the game where the reputation of the game was polluted.Gautam Gambir and Virat Kohli: The two Delhi boys who were playing for two different franchises were involved in ugly verbal duel which everyone watched. The incident happened when Kohli got caught while trying for a huge six. Getting the wicket, KKR grouped to celebrate. Virat walked towards the group and made some extremely derogatory remarks. Captain Gambhir spurted off in anger and walked towards Kohli to confront him. Kieron Pollard and Shane Watson: The tall Caribbean once again got involved in a verbal duel and presented a ugly picture before all the watchers of the game. This time he had an altercation with the Aussie allrounder Sahne Rajasthan Royals. As soon as Shane Watson came down to bat, Kieron Pollard mockingly laughed in Shane Watson's ears and made him feel insulted. Watson did not get the real motive of Pollard's intentional act and he felt disturbed. Munaf Patel and Amit Mishra: This time two Indian bowlers were involved who got in to the dirty act of sledging and presenting an ugly picture before the whole world. It was the last over of the match was the main highlight of the brawl. Munaf got hit for a six on the first ball of the last over. And then on the third ball, he got smashed for a four on which he lost his cool and went down to melee with Amit Mishra, the batsmen. The two ended up in some verbal shouts. The fifth delivery saw the two players almost throwing blows at each other. Sourav Ganguly and Shane Warne: The two legends of the game also got involved in the dirty act of sledging. It was during the first season of IPL when the incident took place. After Ganguly was caught by Graeme Smith, the then Kolkata captain didn't move insisting that the catch was not clean. The third umpire gave the decision in the southpaws favour, but an agitated Warne still went on to have an animated argument with Ganguly. Kieron Pollard and Mitchell Starc: The latest on field controversy to hit the IPL. The RCB bowler had a tensed talk with the Caribbean batsman who in reply acted as if he was going to hurl his bat at the bowler.. Starc came in to bowl his delivery on which Pollard pulled out and backed off to play the delivery. But the Aussie deliberately bowled in the direction of Pollard's body to which the West Indian reacted by throwing his bat in the bowler's direction.
