In what can only be called a shocking day out, one of most decorated teams in BBL history, Sydney Thunder folded out for just 15 runs in a chase of 140 vs Adelaide Strikers.

The fact that the lineup consisted of Alex Hales, Rilee Rossouw and Daniel Sams speaks volumes of how embarrassing this defeat will be Sangha-led side.

The team had a total of five ducks. Henry Thornton scalped 5 wickets while Wes Agar took 4 wickets. Brendan Doggett of Thunders scored 4 runs and was the highest scorer from the team.

Batting first, Strikers did not start well, but Chris Lynn stabilised the ship with 36 off 27 deliveries. de Grandhomme then chipped in with 33 off 24 deliveries and the team ended up getting 139 on board.

If at the halfway mark, if anyone would have told Sydney that they would be chasing 140, they would have happily taken it. Little did they know the kind of storm they were about to be hit with.

Alex Hales and Matthew Gilkes opened for the team, both played two deliveries each and went back for nought. It was just one of those days when no batter could really get going and the opposition just ran through them.

Sydney Thunder will next take on Melbourne Renegades on December 17, while Adelaide Strikers will again go head-to-head with Sydney Thunder on December 20.
