London, Jul 5: England offspinner Graeme Swann will miss the final two one-day internationals against Australia to rest his sore right elbow ahead of the upcoming test series with South Africa.
England selector Geoff Miller says "we feel an extra week's rest will allow his elbow to settle," adding that the plan was always to sit Swann out toward the end of the five-match series, which the hosts lead 2-0.
James Tredwell replaces Swann in the squad while seamer Chris Woakes is also included in place of Jade Dernbach, who misses out because of a side strain.
After Wednesday's third ODI was washed out, England needs one win from the matches at Chester-le-Street and Old Trafford to clinch the series against its fierce rival.
