IPL 2022: SRH vs PBKS Highlights - SRH win by 7 wickets

SRH are on a roll here. Fourth straight victory for them and they are suddenly the team to beat. For Punjab Kings, it's the same old story. They have been on and off this season as well. No real momentum for them. 

Markram finishes it off in style. A boundary followed by a massive six over long-off to hand SRH their 4th straight victory. SRH win by 7 wickets. 

SRH 139/3 after 18 overs: Good running from Markram and Pooran. Lovely from Pooran. Yorker length ball and he squeezes it towards backward square for a boundary.

SRH 131/3 after 17 overs: Kagiso Rabada is back into the attack. Punjab need wickets. Will Rabada deliver? Boundary from Markram, poor fielding from Shahrukh Kahn in the deep. 10 from the over and SRH march ahead. 

The equation for SRH - 31 runs | 24 balls

OUT! Another wicket for Rahul Chahar, Abhishek Sharma departs for 31. A flighted leggy by Rahul, Sharma gets to the pitch of the ball but fails to connect it and ends up giving an easy catch to Shahrukh Khan at long-on. SRH lose two wickets in quick succession. PBKS are fighting back in the game after a good start in the powerplay for SRH. 

Chahar to Tripathi - OUT! caught at long-off. Big, big wicket for Punjab. Bad news for SRH. The man in form departs. SRH are 64/2 after 9 overs.

SRH 53/1 after 7 overs: Rahul Chahar comes into the attack, and Tripathi greets him with a boundary towards point. SRH loot 5 runs as the bowl spins down towards fine leg. Good over for SRH. 14 off it. 

39 runs for SRH in the Powerplay. 

SRH 33/1 after 5 overs:  Boundary for Tripathi towards point. Now scoops the last ball of the over towards fine leg for four. Good over for SRH. 11 from it. 

SRH 22/1 after 4 overs: Rabada to Williamson - OUT! Williamson is back in the hut. He hasn't really got going this season. Williamson is early into the shot, chips it to mid-off who completes the catch. Tripathi is the new batter, and he is in no mood to rest. He means business. Hits it over mid-off for a boundary.

SRH 14/0 after 3 overs: Good bowling from PBKS, and a cautious start for the Sunrisers. 

SRH 6/0 after 1 over: Sharma and SRH are off the mark in some style. Boundary towards fine leg to begin with. 6 from the over.  

And the chase begins for SRH. Vaibhav will start the attack for the Kings. Abhishek Sharma is on strike. Here we go.

PBKS 151 after 20 overs: Umran Malik to bowl the last over. The field tells you he is planning to bowl short. OUT! Odean Smith is out. Short ball again, the batter is late on the pull, and the mid-wicket fielder takes the catch. OUT! Chahar is out bowled. He is done in by the pace here. And another one. Wow! Malik attacks the stumps, and poor Vaibhav Arora has no clue. The ball hits the top of the middle stump, and Umran is on fire. Run out on the last ball too, and Malik has bowled a maiden last over. WHAT. A. TALENT.  

OUT! Livingstone is out. He hasn't been able to get the strike since Khan got dismissed. Last over remains and Smith needs to finish strong. PBKS are 151/6 after 19 overs.

Perfect time for Odean Smith to come in. Let's see what he's got.

 OUT! Khan is out caught at cover after making 26 off 28 deliveries. Bad day for him. Might be a blessing in disguise for PBKS.

PBKS 122/4 after 15 overs: Last 5 overs to go. With Khan & Livingstone still at the crease, PBKS would fancy at least 45-50 runs here. Livingstone got to his 50 in the 15th over. He has been in some form. He holds the key if PBKS are to finish strong. 

PBKS 114/4 after 14 overs: Natrajan to Khan, he is hit on the helmet, Khan is given out, he reviews it, and it is clear there was no bat or glove involved. The physio is here for the mandatory concussion test. Okay, Khan smashes the next ball for a massive six towards mid-wicket. That's some response by Khan after being hit on the head. 

PBKS 104/4 after 13 overs: Another big over for PBKS. 16 from it. Livingstone is dealing in sixes now. 2 in this over too. SRH need to be careful here to not let go of the early advantage. 

PBKS  88/4 after 12 overs: Wow! Livingstone has taken the attack back to Umran Malik. A massive six to mid-wicket followed by a boundary straight down the ground to the left of long-on. Blockbuster stuff this, from Livingstone. 

Good opportunity for Shahrukh Khan. He has a lot of overs to settle down and then play his shots. Watch out for him today.

PBKS 70/4 after 10 overs: Just nine runs from the last two overs, and that included an uppercut for six by Livingstone to Umran Malik. 

PBKS 61/4 after 8 overs: OUT! Jitesh Sharma is back in the hut. Umran Malik is at it again. Pitches the ball short, the batter is late to pull, the ball takes the top edge, and Malik grabs it. PBKS are in trouble. 

OUT! Suchith comes into the attack and sends Bairstow packing. Big wicket for SRH. PBKS are 51/3 after 7 overs. 

PBKS 48/2 after 6 overs: Alright, Livingstone has come in, and has turned the powerplay for PBKS on its head. Suddenly, the score looks great. 15 runs from the last powerplay over. 

PBKS 33/2 after 5 overs: Natrajan comes into the attack, and Singh goes after him. Two Boundaries in a row. He is hitting them so hard. SRH think Singh has edged it to the keeper, and they review it. He indeed has. OUT! Singh edges the ball to the keeper. Both Punjab openers are back in the hut.

PBKS 23/1 after 4 overs: Twin boundaries for Bairstow. The first one came off the top edge and went over the keeper. The second came over point. Much needed for PBKS. 

PBKS 13/1 after 3 overs: Bhuvi continues from the other end. Dhawan is itching to go, but isn't able to find the boundary. OUT! Dhawan is caught at mid-wicket. This was coming. Good bowling from Bhuvi. Sedate start for PBKS. Bairstow is the new batter. Wow! Bairstow just about survives a run-out chance. PBKS needs to be careful here. Singh is the culprit here. He just ran down the pitch without any call. 

PBKS 8/0 after 2 overs: Marco Jansen comes into the attack. A quiet over. Just 2 from it. 

PBKS 6/0 after 1 over: And Dhawan is off the mark. Steps out and lofts the ball over mid-wicket for a boundary. Oh no, Dhawan is hit below the belt. He is down in pain. The match resumes now. Steers the ball towards the square leg for a single. Prabhsimran is off the mark too with a single.

Alright, here we go. Prabhsimran will open alongside Dhawan. Bhuvi to open the attack for SRH.

Kane Williamson: We will bowl first. It's something we've done recently, we need to just play according to our plans. The wicket will hold up for the entire game, just need to make those small improvements, the signs are good, and need to adjust to the conditions early. Same team for us

Shikhar Dhawan: Mayank got hit on his toe, he should be fine for the next game. So, there's just one change for us - Prabhsimran is in. We are performing well without depending on individuals - need to continue playing well as a unit, the bowling can get better, we're working on it. The team is new and we're taking time to settle. The toss could be an advantage, it's a bit sticky, the ball could turn, but if we put up a good total, we can put them under pressure.
