Kochi: Former India speedster S. Sreesanth is planning to move the court against the life ban slapped on him by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for his alleged role in spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Sreesanth's lawyer Rebecca John Sunday told local TV channels from Delhi that the cricketer will indeed move the court.

She also blamed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief Narayanaswami Srinivasan for having a key role in the ban.

"Sreesanth has been denied natural justice through this unjustified ban, which is very strange. The BCCI's disciplinary committee decision was based on some papers from the Delhi Police. They could have at least waited for the court to give its verdict," said Rebecca.

The BCCI's disciplinary committee Friday came down heavily on the tainted cricketers, slapping life bans on Sreesanth and his Rajasthan Royals team mate Ankeet Chavan for spot fixing in the IPL.

Sreesanth also said that the BCCI decision was unexpected.

"The decision of the BCCI was unexpected and I do not know why I am being hounded like this. Now the case will come up on October 7 in the Delhi court," said Sreesanth.

Sreesanth, along with his two Rajasthan Royals team mates Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila, was arrested by Delhi Police after a mid-night raid in Mumbai, May 16. Sreesanth is currently out on jail after spending nearly a month in Delhi's Tihar Jail.
