Kochi, Oct 26: Temperamental Indian speedster Sreesanth sought the blessings from the famed Sree Krishna temple at Guruvayoor for making a return to the national team.

Sreesanth, dressed up in mythological style of the "Viswaroopam" of Lord Vishnu, made the offerings Thursday night. He was accompanied with his parents and close relatives.

But a day later Friday, Sreesanth found himself out of the central contracts awarded by the Indian cricket board.

"I want to be selected to the Indian team after a lay off following injuries and wish to be in the team on Jan 15 when India take on England in the ODI, to be held at Kochi," said the 29-year-old Sreesanth to media persons after his prayers at the temple.

Sreesanth's last first-class match was in November last year when he turned out for Kerala against Vidharba and since then a toe injury has kept him out of competitive cricket.

Incidentally, this temple has been a lucky charm for Sreesanth. His mother had offered prayers here ahead of the 2011 World Cup. When the team was announced, Sreesanth did not figure in it, but luck came his way after Praveen Kumar had to withdraw following an injury.
