Former captain Shoaib Malik came to file an appeal against his one-year ban slapped by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday, but he postponed his plan and said that he would file the appeal after a week.

The PCB on March 10 had announced bans and fines on seven players on the recommendations of the inquiry committee formed to investigate the Pakistan team's embarrassing performance on the tour of Australia.

The board on March 15 announced an arbitrary panel of three retired judges with an approval from the governing body.

Sources said that the players have some reservations about the arbitrary panel formed by the board.

Shoaib Malik informed media that he would file an appeal on Monday against the PCB decision but after waiting for five hours the media was told by him that he would not file the appeal now.

On the insistence of media, he came to the Gaddafi Stadium and said in a brief talk that he is innocent and has always played for the country.

Malik said that he is consulting his friends and family at the moment and would file an appeal after playing the Bangladesh League in Dubai.
