Mumbai, Jul 16: Shiv Sena today announced it would strongly oppose the year-end tour of India by the Pakistani cricket team.
Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam said here that the perpetrators of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks are yet to be punished.
"So long as Pakistan does not change its attitude towards terrorism, there was no point in playing cricket with the neighbouring country", he added.
Maharashtra state congress chief Manikrao Thakre indirectly opposed the series, saying there was still anger among the Indian people over Pakistan's stand on terror and the BCCI should take cognizance of popular feelings.
Samajwadi Party state president Abu Azmi also opposed the Pakistani cricket team's tour of India saying there was no point in playing cricket with the neighbouring country so long as it does not curb terror against India.
