Melbourne, Jul 22: Leg-spinner Shane Warne is retiring from Australia's Twenty20 Big Bash League, severing another of his few remaining playing ties to top-line cricket.
The 43-year-old Warne led the Melbourne Stars in the domestic competition last season but says he will hand over the captaincy to Cameron White.
Warne says “the time is right for me to hang up my Big Bash boots. Juggling business, family and commentary commitments across two continents is not easy. I've always loved the game but now it's time to observe.”
