Mumbai: BCCI has decided not to send the national selectors abroad with team India, instead they will be deployed on domestic duty.
According to a BCCI source, " now selectors will not be sent abroad with the team. BCCI thinks that there is no work for selectors on tour. So we have decide to give them domestic duties only."
Team India will be touring South Africa next month once ODI series is over with West Indies.
Now Sandip Patil, chairman, selection committee, and other members will watch all the domestic cricket matches. Patil was not present in Mumbai during Sachin Tendulkar's farewell series as he was busy watching Ranji Trophy match.
According to a source the rational behind BCCI's decision is to identify new bench strength for Indian team and this will require the selectors presence during domestic matches.
