Sangakkara smashed 128 while Ashan Priyanjan hit 60, his second half-century in his fourth one-day match. Sangakkara and Priyanjan added 114 for the fourth wicket after Sri Lanka had been reduced to 63-3.
Captain Angelo Mathews was not out on 56 Thursday.
For Bangladesh, Rubel Hossain was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3-76 while Arafat Sunny, Shakib Al Hasan and Sohag Gazi took one wicket apiece.
