Karachi, Feb 6 : Pakistani cricketers  former captain Salman Butt and fast bowler Mohammad Asif will fight the ban imposed by ICC on them for spot-fixing in a Lausanne court on Thursday.



Out of the three, Aamer has decided not to file appeal beforce the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland. He had pleaded guilty to spot-fixing charges in Britain.

Both Butt and Asif left for Switzerland on Tuesday. Butt got a 10-year ban, with five suspended, while Asif got a 7-year-ban with two years suspended. Aamer got a 5-year-ban.

The three were caught in a major sting carried out a London newspapeer in August 2010 during the Lord's Test between England and Pakistan, where they accepted money for deliberately bowling no-balls in a spot-fixing scandal.

All the three cricketers were jailed by a British court in November 2011, but were released last year and deported after completing half of their sentences.

Butt will be represented by London-based lawyer, Yasin Patel, while Asif's case will be fought by London-based lawyer Ravi Sukul. The ICC will field its legal firm Bird and Bird.

Asif who is now 30 years,  played 23 Tests and 38  ODIs  while Aamer was the fastest emerging bowler.
