New Delhi: ‘God of cricket' and team India's batting icon Sachin Tendulkar has finally revealed his feelings towards former coach, Greg Chappell. Tendulkar, in an event held in New Delhi, said that Chappell pushed back Indian cricket by at least 5 years.

The cricket icon was referring to the era (June 2005-April 2007) in which the Indian cricket team, coached by Chappell, was making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

On Saturday, in Times Lit Fest, the hard feelings of Sachin towards Greg were revealed by the legend himself.

Sachin told audience about his meeting with Greg's brother Ian Chappell at in a Durban gym, a few years later after Greg became the head coach of Team India. Ian Chappell was critical of Tendulkar when the 'Master Blaster' was going through a bad patch and advised him to have a look in the 'mirror'.

When Ian Chappell saw Tendulkar working out in the gym and said, "So this is the secret." Tendulkar was still livid."

“You guys conveniently change your tone," he shot back.

"Your brother (Greg) created the entire problem. He took Indian cricket at least five years behind."

Interestingly, Sachin had also described the veteran Australian cricketer as a 'ringmaster' in his biography – ‘Playing It My Way'.

He wrote that Chappel imposed his ideas on Indian players.
