A jaw-dropping hundred from Will Jacks and a sensational half-century from Virat Kohli powered Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a huge win over Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. Chasing a target of 201, the Bengaluru-based side gunned down the score in 16 overs as Jacks smashed a brilliant ton with the winning six off Rashid.

The England star lined up the Afghan spin wizard Rashid with a 29-run over with four sixes and a four off the five balls he faced him. With RCB needing one run for a win and Jacks needing six for a century, he smashed the Afghan bowler over deep mid-wicket with a slog sweep to take RCB home. RCB have now created history as they have broken the record of fastest 200 or 200 plus chase in terms of balls remaining. Mumbai Indians held the record as they gunned down the 200-run target in 16.3 overs. RCB have done this in 16 overs now.

Fastest successful 200-plus run-chases in IPL history:

16.0 overs - RCB vs GT - 2024

16.3 overs - MI vs RCB - 2023

17.3 overs - Delhi Daredevils vs Gujarat Lions - 2017

18.0 overs - MI vs SRH - 2023

18.2 overs - KXIP vs KKR - 2010

Kohli and Jacks partnered each other for a huge 166-run stand for the second wicket. After being criticised for his post-powerplay strike rate, Kohli silenced the critics with a 44-ball 70-run knock that was laced with three sixes and six fours. Jacks' knock featured 10 maximums and five fours. RCB lost Faf du Plessis after a strong start at 40. The skipper made 24 from 12 balls but was dismissed by Sai Kishore in the fourth over.  Earlier, Sai Sudharsan's 84-run knock powered the hosts to a decent-looking total of 200/3. He played some brilliant strokes to anchor the first inning. Shahrukh Khan gave the much-needed impetus in the middle overs as he scored a stroke-filled 58 from 30 balls. David Miller provided some finishing touches with a 26-run knock but that turned out to be way too less against RCB today.
