New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh were in a commanding position after dismissing Services for a lowly 226 on the first day of a Group C Ranji Trophy encounter, here Sunday.
At stumps, Himachal Pradesh were 19 for no loss.
For Services, debutant Deepak Punia, coming in at No 9, scored 64 off 67 balls with nine boundaries and two sixes as his half-century got Services out of the rut at 147 for eight.
Save Punia, only left-hander Saumik Chatterjee (42) made significant contribution at the top of the order.
For HP, medium pacers Vikramjit Malik (3/33) and Rishi Dhawan (3/57) took bulk of the wickets. Leg-spinner Karanveer Singh (2/49) also chipped in with useful wickets.
