Kozhikode, Sept 20 :An elated India fast bowler Shantakumaran Sreesanth, making a comeback into team India for the India-Australia two-test series, today said that playing for the country is a great opportunity. Sreesanth has been included in the 15-member team announced for the two-test series starting on October 1 at Mohali.
Speaking to PTI over telephone from Bangalore, the bespectacled pacer said 'I am sure I will be able to perform well by giving my full effort'.
'I have not played against Australia in test matches. This is an opportunity for playing for my country. Australia is a top test side and I am hoping to put in good performance', the temperamental pacer said.
Sreesanth said he has been training hard and is in rhythm having played for Kerala state in the recent Moin-ud-Dowla tournament at Hyderabad. The pacer thanked the selectors for reposing faith in him (Sreesanth).
Replying to a query whether he was expecting a recall into team India, Sreesanth said 'not really, but I was training hard and had been bowling a lot'. 'It is very good', Sreesanth replied to a query on the preparation. PTI
