New Delhi: Phil Hughes funeral took place at Hughes' hometown Macksville, New South Wales today. People gathered to pay tribute to Phil at Macksville High School, Macksville, New South Wales. Funeral organisers say it is much about the local community as the cricket family and the streets will be lined after the service.

Hughes's hometown, came to a standstill at 2 pm as all shops and businesses close and more than 5000 from a local population of 7000 joined the Hughes family, dignitaries, Test cricketers, former players and teammates to say farewell.

The 25-year-old batsman died Nov 27, two days after being hit behind the left ear by a short-pitch delivery during a domestic match in Sydney.

Michael Clarke, Aaron Finch, Greg Hughes (father), Jason Hughes (brother), Corey Ireland, Mitchell Lonergan, Matthew Day, and Tom Cooper carried the coffin from the main hall at Macksville High School.

Hughes' funeral was als attented by Australian Test squad, Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars, Mark Taylor, Sir Richard Hadlee, Brian Lara, Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri, Dean Jones, Shane Warne, Mike Hussey, Ricky Ponting, Glenn McGrath, Adam Gilchrist, Justin Langer, Simon Katich, Steve Waugh, Brett Lee, Damien Martyn, Mark Waugh, Neil Maxwell, Gavin Robertson, Honourable Tony Abbott MP, Honourable Bill Shorten MP, Honourable Mike Baird MP, Honourable Peter Dutton MP, Honourable Luke Hartsuyker MP.

Micheal Clarke spoke at the funeral along with Cricket Australia (CA) CEO James Sutherland and a representative from Hughes' family.
