Bangalore, Dec 25: A brilliant knock of 57 runs by Hafeez and 61 by Malik took Pak to a fine victory over India with 5 wickets in hand in the 1st T20 match hereon Tuesday.

 

Pak's batting line in the beginning got stumbled as India's pacer B Kumar got rid of Jamshed (2), Shehzad (5) and U Akmal (0) at the score of 12. But Hafeez and Malik took the responsibility and added 106 runs for the fourth wicket. Malik wrapped up all with a match winning six.

Earlier, despite  a brilliant opening stand by Gambhir (43) and Rahane (42) Team India failed to capitalise further against Pakistan in 1st T20 match and just managed to score 133 runs in its innings here on Tuesday.

Gambhir and Rahane kicked off India's inning with some blasting strokes adding 77 runs for the first wicket but soon after they departed the rest of batting line up fell like playing cards as if it was a highlight reel.

Pak bowlers Gul and Ajmal took 3 and 2 wickets respectively while Md. Irfan and Afridi took 1 wicket each.

Earlier, Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez won the toss and decided to field first against India in the first Twenty20 International of the bilateral series here at  M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.

India and Pakistan  are playing after a gap of five years.

The tall fast bowler Mohammad Irfan is making his T20I debut, he played two ODIs in September 2010.
