Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Sri Lanka restricted Pakistan to 189-4 in its second innings at lunch on day four of the second test, having taken the key wicket of Younis Khan in Saturday's morning session.
Resuming at 132-3 under overcast conditions, Pakistan made slow progress, adding only 57 runs in the session, with captain Misbah-ul-Haq unbeaten on 74 at lunch and Asad Shafiq on 18.
Pakistan needs a further 34 runs to make Sri Lanka bat again, having conceded a 223-run first innings lead.
Khan succumbed to the pressure built by Sri Lanka's seamers, bowling at a probing line and length, and was out for 77, edging a Suranga Lakmal delivery to wicketkeeper Prasanna Jayawardene.
Misbah required over an hour and 38 deliveries to score his first runs of the day.
