New Delhi:  The chances of an India- Pakistan Cricket series seems to be finally over after a spokesperson from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ruled out Pakistan team coming to India.

The chief of the PCB's executive committee Najam Sethi has said, “I don't know why India doesn't want to play in the UAE.

It recently played IPL matches there. We are waiting for a fresh proposal from the BCCI. But our position is clear. We are not going to play in India,” in a statement to an English daily.

Earlier this month, after consultations between the PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the latter had reportedly requested Pakistan to move their ‘home' series from the UAE to India. The request was rejected by the PCB on grounds of safety.

In October, a meeting between the PCB and BCCI officials regarding the possible cricket series had been ransacked by Shiv Sena activists in what has been "a growing tide of anti-Pakistan sentiments in India.

Pakistan and India had signed an agreement to play six series - four hosted by Pakistan and two by India - last year.

Pakistan has been unable to host top-level international cricket after the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in 2009 due to security concern.
