PAK vs ENG 1st Test Live Score: England lose skipper Ollie Pope early in reply to Pakistan's 556

Pakistan vs England 1st Test Live Updates: Pakistan unexpectedly dominated the proceedings on Day 1 of the first Test against England in Multan, smashing 328 runs while losing four wickets. Pakistan would have given their limbs if you'd asked them at the start of the match if they would have taken that score. Captain Shan Masood slammed a magnificent 151 while Abdullah Shafique also scored a century. Babar Azam's form continued to be a concern for Pakistan, however, the story of the day was England's toothless bowling attack on a flat wicket. Barring Chris Woakes, it was an inexperienced bowling attack and even though they picked three wickets in the final session, they will have to bowl really well to stop Pakistan from getting to 500, which looks like a real possibility currently. England's bowlers look toothless

Yes, there is inexperience barring Chris Woakes, and none of the pacers who were the stars in the 2022 series are here in Pakistan for England this time around, but the current lot is not that bad as they showed in England but they just looked toothless. Shan and Shafique had no problems in negotiating and managing these bowlers for the longest before they struck back with a few wickets in the final session. The ball is still newish and England would hope to get a couple of early on the second morning to not let Pakistan run away with the game.

A memorable day for Pakistan but can they make it count?

If the Bangladesh series was any indication, the Pakistan team and their fans can't relax after a good first day as in both those games, they floundered in the latter stages and hence, the hosts will be keen to seal the deal once and for all given, they are at the top currently and will try to bat England out of the game.
