Pakistan have declared on 448/6 as skipper Shan Masood wants to have a crack at the Bangladesh openers with an hour's play left in the day. Mohammad Rizwan won't have a chance to get to his double hundred as he remains stranded on 171. The 240-run partnership between Rizwan and Saud Shakeel laid the foundation for such a huge score as Bangladesh have a huge challenge on their hands.

Mohammad Rizwan has gotten to his half-century off just 64 deliveries with a boundary off Nahid Rana as he is really flexing his aggressive gameplay. Pakistan also have crossed the 200 mark and Bangladesh are slightly on the back foot now. Both Shakeel and Rizwan are going great guns and Bangladesh desperately need to break this partnership.

Shakeel will look to go big alongside Rizwan
The new vice-captain Saud Shakeel played in both gears to negotiate the early seam movement and then just bid his time in the middle to come out unbeaten on a fifty. Saim Ayub, who also scored a half-century was dismissed by Hasan Mahmud in wee hours but Mohammad Rizwan came out with positive intent and would have to keep it that way if Pakistan want to push for the result.

Pakistan and Bangladesh shared the honours on the first day of the opening Test in Rawalpindi, which was delayed for a long due to a wet outfield. Only 41 overs of play was possible. Bangladesh dominated the first half having Pakistan reduced to 16/3 before Saud Shakeel and Saim Ayub led Pakistan's comeback.
