Dhaka, Nov 29: Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 50 runs in the one-off Twenty20 international at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Pakistan, restricted to 135-7 after electing to take first strike, hit back to keep Bangladesh down to 85-9 on a slow wicket.

The rivals begin a three-match one-day series from Thursday, followed by two Tests.

Mohd Hafeez was the star of Pakistani win, scoring 25 runs and grabbing two wickets with a figure of 2/11. Shoaib Malik took 2 wickets for 7 runs.

Pakistan batted first, but the Bangladeshi bowlers restricted them to 135 for 7.  Umran Akmal made 20 and Misbah-ul-Haq made 21 runs.  For Bangladesh, Shakib al Hasan and Alok Kapali took two wickets each.

Nasir Hossain remained not out for 35, as Bangladesh slumped to 85 for 9 in the allotted overs.
