Wellington, New Zealand, Aug 28:  Australian Damien Wright has stepped down as the bowling coach of the New Zealand cricket team, completing a revamp of the coaching team after the resignation of head coach John Wright.

Damien Wright, who is currently touring India with the New Zealand side, announced his resignation on Tuesday, saying "the decision is related to time away from my family."

He will end his role after next month's world Twenty20 tournament in Sri Lanka.

John Wright quit as New Zealand coach earlier this month, succeeded by Mike Hesson, while batting coach Trent Woodhill was replaced last week by Englishman Bob Carter.

New Zealand director of cricket John Buchanan said "Damien has done a brilliant job since he came on board and will be hard to replace."
