New Delhi: South African anti- apartheid icon Nelson Mandela, who passed away on Friday morning, was a passionate fan of cricket.
The untiring campaigner of human rights, Nelson Mandela 95, was frequently seen in the company of sportspersons across the globe.
His death was duly acknowledged by English and Australian cricket sides who observed a minute's silence in honour of the departed icon, and sported black bands to express mourning before the start of Day 2 of the 2nd test of Ashes series.
