Melbourne: Monty Panesar, the controversial England cricketer, found himself in yet another controversy when a young American girl accused him of tempting her to his hotel room hours after humiliating Ashes defeat to Australia.
While England cricket team has yet to feel the hit after 0-5 Ashes wash out, Monty Panesar, known for courting controversies, put shameful defeat behind him and tried to lure a blonde to his room at the team's hotel.
The spin bowler chatted her up using a dating phone app four hours after bowling the final ball in a Fourth Test spanking by Australia.
Panesar, 31, told the backpacker they would have to meet at his hotel apartment because the team was not allowed out.
England bosses wanted them to reflect on how badly they had played in last weekend's Melbourne match, which left them 4-0 down in the series.
But the only maidens on Panesar's mind were on matchmaking phone app Tinder. And he sent one user called Alison a message asking her over to his room to chill out over a drink.
Alison, who is American and in her twenties, said: “I thought it was a bit strange he would be behaving like that so soon after they had lost.
