Marred with injuries, Australia were forced to make another change to their squad with Moises Henriques called-up for the first Test in place of Sean Abbott, who suffered a calf strain during Australia A vs India warm up game on Saturday.

Abbott is now in the long list of injured Australian players that includes David Warner (adductor), Will Pucovski (concussion), Green (concussion) and Asthon Agar (calf). Marcus Stoinis (side), Josh Hazlewood (back), Aaron Finch (glute), Jackson Bird (calf) and Harry Conway (concussion) have also been dealt injuries this season.

Cameron Green, who suffered a mild concussion injury during the Day 1 of the same match, remains in contention for the first Test selection as he will travel with the team to Adelaide, confirmed Cricket Australia announced on Monday.

Cricket.com.au also reported that Green has been recuperating well from the concussion after he was hit on the head on Friday while bowling to Jasprit Bumrah.

An update on his condition is expected early this week.

The Oz cricket body also announced that Henriques will travel to Adelaide instead of Abbott.

Interestingly, Henriques, who hasn't playted Test cricket since 2016, has just recovered from an injury which forced him to skip the second Australia A tour match against India.

He was added to the squad after passing the fitness test for his hamstring injury on Monday. He will be travelling to Adelaide along with Mitchell Starc, who took some time away due to a family emergency.
