ISLAMABAD: Acting chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board is not keen to continue as PCB head and wants to hold fresh elections within a month.
Last Monday Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is patron of the PCB, appointed Justice Mohammad Sair Ali as acting chairman PCB and election commissioner for fresh elections of PCB chairman within 30 days.
"I'll not be very keen to continue as acting chairman or even assert my unnecessary authority, whether I have it or not," says Ali.
Ali has written to all the concerned departments and regions to name the remaining eight members so that a 10-member governing board is formed. Former chairmen Najam Sethi and Shaharyar Khan were directly appointed by Sharif on the governing board from which the new chairman will be elected.
