Wellington, New Zealand: New Zealand's new fast bowling discovery Adam Milne has been ruled out of the remainder of the one-day series against India after straining an abdominal muscle in the opening match on Sunday.
The 21-year-old Milne has created considerable excitement in New Zealand cricket circles by regularly bowling at more than 150 kph. Working in partnership with Mitchell McClenaghan and Tim Southee, he has given New Zealand an express pace attack for the first time in many years.
But he was forced from the field during the opening match of the five-match one-day series and scans have shown a torn abdominal muscle.
Milne has been replaced by Hamish Bennett who played his most-recent ODI for New Zealand in 2011.
