Adelaide: Shaun Marsh will replace injured Australia captain Michael Clarke for the second Test match against India, starting at Brisbane from December 17, Cricket Australia said today.
Clarke ruled himself out of the remaining Test series against India after limping off the field with a hamstring strain on the final day of the opening match here.
The scans have shown he has a torn right hamstring.
Besides Marsh, Australia have also added left-arm paceman Mitchell Starc to their squad for the Gabba Test.
Meanwhile, wicketkeeper Brad Haddin is expected to take over captaincy from Clarke for the remaining three Test matches.
Clarke, who is also battling back spasms, went down in the 44th over of India's second innings clutching his right hamstring. He was taken to hospital for scans after that and was seen walking with a limp even after coming back to the ground.
