Hyderabad: Observing that the ongoing Oppo Champions League T20 tournament would be a great learning experience for the Perth Scorchers, senior player Brad Hogg today said his team is hoping to put its best foot forward and pull off some upsets in the event.
"Our ambition is to try and win; last year we came over with an inexperienced team. We were not expecting too much. We came over (this year) here with the goal of getting experience for our younger players; we have injuries; we have players going to IPL teams. We could not get overseas players. Wish we got a pretty strong team; we are expecting to upset the competition; we want upset a few teams," he told reporters ahead of Perth Scorchers' match against Kolkata Knight Riders tomorrow.
Hogg said that the match with a reigning IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders would be a great experience for the young players of the Scorchers'.
"We are coming up against, probably, an international team; there are known international players with vastness and experience that is a good learning experience," he said.
The Scorchers is looking to produce international cricketers with the experience of playing in the Champions League, he said.
Replying to a query, he said the pitch looked good and might turn later on as the match progressed.
