20 Overs - India vs West Indies, 2nd T20I Highlights: India beat West Indies by 8 runs, clinch series 2-0

19.5 Just a single. Harshal Patel keeps his nerve calm

19.4 Powell smashes another six, can he do a Carlos Brathwaite? 11 runs in 2 balls

19.3 Powell hits it for a six, 17 runs in 3 balls

19.2 Just a single on the second ball

19.1 Dot ball to start with

Harshal Patel need to defend 25 runs in 6 balls

West Indies 162/2 in 19 overs So the equation is 29 runs in 12 balls. Kumar to bowl the second last over. Can he deliver at the crucial stage? 100 run partnership for 4th wicket between Pooran and Powell. Ravi revives himself as he takes a superb catch of Pooran, he earlier dropped a catch. Excellent over by Kumar to finish his spell, just four runs from it.

West Indies 158/2 in 18 overs Harshal to bowl the 18th and the 20th over. Powell completes his fifty in just 28 balls, four boundaries and three sixes in his innings. (Delhi Capitals will be happy seeing Rovman Powell's form as they bought him in IPL 2022 mega auction for 2.8 cr). Eight runs from the over as Pooran finish it with a boundary.

West Indies 150/2 in 17 overs Out of four reaming two will be bowled by Harshal Patel and one each by Kumar, Chahar. Powell smokes one into the stands, 82 meters six. Pooran completes his fifty with a six. Back to back fifties for the southpaw. 150 up for WI, 16 from the over.

West Indies 134/2 in 16 overs India need to take care of the slow over-rate as well. Kumar is back into the attack. Powell hits him for a boundary straight down the ground. Kumar drops Powell. Has he dropped the match? Rohit kicks the ball in frustration ends up giving one more run. 10 runs from the over.

The ICC website states that "a fielding side must be in a position to bowl the first ball of the final over of the innings by the scheduled or rescheduled time for the end of the innings. If they are not in such a position, one fewer fielder will be permitted outside of the 30-yard circle for the remaining overs of the innings."

West Indies 124/2 in 15 overs Ravi is here to bowl his last over. Just 21 runs in three overs so far. Powell will look to attack him. Pulls the ball straight down the ground for four. Powell has some power! Pooran joins Powell with a four. 11 runs from the over.

West Indies 113/2 in 14 overs Harshal Patel will be bowling the crucial death overs for India. Powell gets an edge and the ball runs down to the boundary. India take review as they think it hit Powell on the pads. DRS shows bowling clipping the bat. 10 runs from the over.

West Indies 103/2 in 13 overs 100 up for West Indies as Powell hits another six, this time against Bishnoi. 12 runs from the over. WI running away with the game if India want to make comeback they need wickets.

West Indies 91/2 in 12 overs Deepak Chahar is back into the attack. One boundary from Pooran and one six from Powell in the over. 12 runs from the over.

West Indies 79/2 in 11 overs Ravi Bishnoi bowls another brilliant over as he gives only six runs in the over. WI need 12 runs from the next nine overs each, with eight wickets in hand. The match is in favour of visitors.

West Indies 73/2 in 10 overs Pooran continues to attack as he hit Chahal out of the park. Powell inflicts another sweep, this time it is a four. Rohit Sharma is furious with his fielders however the ball was too far. 13 runs from the over.

West Indies 60/2 in 9 overs Impressive Bishnoi comes in. And, he immediately strikes for his national team. Brandon King sluggish innings come to an end, tries to break shackles and ends up miscuing it in the air. SKY takes a good catch at long-on. Just a single run from that over.

West Indies 59/1 in 8 overs West Indies are playing sensibly against Chahal. They might look to attack the other bowlers to cover up for this another tidy over from the leggy. Chahal has bowled another excellent over to keep the score runs in check. Just four runs off that over.

West Indies 54/1 in 7 overs Pooran welcomes Harshal Patel with a maximum and then the following boundary. Rohit could have brought in young Bishnoi as his quick leg breaks could have created problems for the WI batters. Harshal should stick to his plan of bowling slower ones that can provide another breakthrough for the hosts. 13 runs off his first over.

West Indies 41/1 in 6 overs Yuzi Chahal draws the first blood for India. Good decision to bring Chahal early on as the dew might have affected his bowling later on. Mayers departed for 9 runs after returning the catch to the bowler itself. In-form Pooran comes in and opens his account with a boundary. King escapes a nervy dismissal.

West Indies 34/0 in 5 overs Chahar brought back in for Bhuvi. Good yorkers are being applied with the new ball. The ball skied away at a good height with Iyer running behind it to grab what could have been a sensational catch near the boundary. But, in the end, a boundary to King. Only 6 runs for that over.

West Indies 28/0 in 4 overs Spin introduced. Chahal comes in the powerplay overs to open the wicket column for the men in blue. Windies need to stay calm against the leggy as he has a knack for fooling the set batsmen. Another good over for the Indians as Chahal only gave away 6 runs.

West Indies 22/0 in 3 overs Bhuvi should try to get a wicket from the good swing that he's getting as the early wicket can open the doors for hosts. He's constantly getting the batters to miss the edges. Good tight bowling as the visitors are finding it difficult to middle against those tight lines. And again, a good over is spoilt by the last delivery from the bowler.

West Indies 14/0 in 2 overs Deepak Chahar starts from the other end. He has started well by getting King to miss two balls by a whisker. WI openers should look to settle down before going after the Indian bowlers. For now, they are dealing in singles only. King spoils Deepak's first over by hitting a boundary off his last delivery.

West Indies 8/0 in 1 over West Indies openers Brandon King and Kyle Mayers take the guard as Bhuvneshwar starts the proceedings for Indian bowling. Bhuvi bowls a gifting wide boundary in his first over. He's getting a bit of a swing as Windies batters are being patient for now. Good over that.

India 186/5 in 20 overs Romario Shepherd dismisses for 33. The southpaw took just 17 balls to score some quick runs. He smashed four boundaries and a six in his innings. Harshal Patel joined joins Pant in the middle. Fifty up for Pant. His innings consisted of seven boundaries and a six.

India 179/4 in 19 overs Iconic one-handed six by Pant! The change of bat has worked for Pant. Holder's full toss goes into the stands. Pant paddle sweeps the fourth ball for another boundary. 15 runs from the over.

India 164/4 in 18 overs Iyer converts a full ball into a full toss by dancing down the track, hits it for a boundary. 12 runs from the over.

India 152/4 in 17 overs Venkatesh Iyer along with Pant is going India a solid finish. Iyer smashed Holder for a six. 13 runs from the over. 54 runs have come off the last four overs. 150 up for India.

India 139/4 in 16 overs Iyer's boundary makes everyone in the dugout stand not because they wanted to applaud but they were afraid that the ball might hit them. That was funny. Iyer pulls another one in the air and gets a boundary. Pant finish the over with a boundary. 15 runs from the over.

India 124/4 in 15 overs  Kieron Pollard is into the attack. Pant welcomes him with a boundary. Pant drives another ball for a boundary towards covers. And another one, 14 from the over

India 110/4 in 14 overs Jason Holder drops a catch of Virat Kohli on boundary ropes. Kohli completes his fifty with a six. Quicker one by Rostan chase and Virat gets clean bowled. Bowler has the last laugh. Venkatesh Iyer joins Pant in the middle. He also starts the innings with a boundary. What a spell by Chase! Four over 25 runs and three big wickets.

India 98/3 in 13 overs Odean Smith comes into the attack. Virat Kohli cuts him for a boundary. Two wides in the over. Nine runs from the over.

India 88/3 in 12 overs  Just three runs from Roston Chase's third over. He is bowling an excellent spell. Two wickets to his name so far with just 13 runs.

India 85/ 3 in 11 overs The current run rate is just above 7. India need to score quick runs, bowling in the second innings will not be that easy. Pant is showing good intent as he hits Holder for a boundary towards cow-corner. Nine runs from the over.

India 76/ 3 in 10 overs Chase picks the second wicket in his second over as he removes SKY for 8. Rostan Chase has impressed a lot in this series. The off-spinner is in his second over and already picked two wickets giving away just 11 runs. Rishabh Pant has joined Kohli in the middle and he starts with a boundary.

India 69/ 2 in 9 overs Suryakumar Yadav has joined Virat Kohli in the middle. Akeal Hosein is back to bowl his fourth over. SKY hits the first ball of the innings for a beautiful boundary between third-man and point. Nine runs from the over.

India 60/ 2 in 8 overs Successful over for WI, as Rostan Chase removes India captain Rohit Sharma for 19. Rohit goes for a big shot but ends up edging it up in the air. Brandon King finally revives himself by taking a good catch. India lose the second wicket. Just five runs from the over.

India 56/ 1 in 7 overs Akeal Hosein is back into the attack and Kohli hits him for a boundary on the first ball. Fifty up for Team India. The current run rate is around 8.20, both these players should look to increase it. Seven runs from the over.

India 49/ 1 in 6 overs Back to back boundaries for Virat Kohli. He wants to make most of the last powerplay over. Kohli is batting with the strike rate of 169.23. When was the last time you saw something like this from Virat early in the innings? Rohit ends the over with a six. Miss hit but it lands just over the ropes. 15 runs the over.

India 34/1 in 5 overs Virat Kohli welcomes Jason Holder with a boundary. Former India captain is in no mood to play defensive shots. India should look to make most of the powerplay overs. A boundary from the bat of Rohit, 11 runs from the over.

India 23/ 1 in 4 overs Rohit Sharma gets a life as Brandon King drops a catch at the deep point. You do not drop Rohit Sharma at Eden Gardens. He will make this one count for sure. Slams another ball towards point, King gets his hand to it but the ball races away to the boundary. Five runs from the over.

India 18/1 in 3 overs Two weird yet aggressive shots by Virat Kohli in this over. One a paddle sweep and a flick to start the innings. Eight runs from the over. India definitely going all guns blazing, given that they are batting first and the dew will play a big role in the second innings.

India 10/1 in 2 overs Eventful over comes to an end. First, West Indies team opt for a review where there was a gap of almost 5 to 6 inches between the ball and Ishan's bat. Pooran backed Sheldon Cottrell but the review proved West Indies team wrong. On the very next ball, Kishan edges it up in the air and Kyle Mayers takes a simple catch at square leg. India lose the first wicket in the 2nd over. Just 10 runs from the first two overs with the second one being maiden.

India 10/0 in 1 over Akeal Hosein bowls two no-balls and a wide boundary in his first over. Both Rohit and Ishan got an opportunity to face one free-hit each yet they both found fielders in the deep. Good over for India, especially for Ishan Kishan who struggled in the last game.

India will continue with Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma to open their batting while West Indies are starting with Akeal Hosein.

Let's start then!

A milestone for Pollard!

Both team captains at the toss

Rohit Sharma We need to get back to our basics. It is a lightning outfield. Understand the game situation. Bat freely and see what we need to do after Powerplay. As a team, we want to improve in all departments. Whether we finish the game clinically or not, we need to improve. We have got the same team.
Kieron Pollard Looks like a good track. The last game dew was the factor. We will try to bowl first and limit them to a low total. Continue to execute our skills. We can't do much in one daybreak. One change. Jason is fit. Fabian misses out.
