Johannesburg: Indian bowlers striked in the last session and restricted South African batsmen getting the lead on the 2nd day of the first test match played here on Thursday. South Africa were 213/6 at the end of the day 2 and trailing by 67 runs.
South African pair of captain Graeme Smith (68) and Hashim Amla (36) were looking in good mood of taking the lead on Day 2 but Ishant Sharma striked after lunch and picked 2 wickets on back to back deliveries.
Ishant first picked Amla when he bowled him and then on the very next delivery he lbwed Kallis on a duck.
Then Zaheer strike quickly removing Smith.
Shami also the man who took 2 quick wickets in the last session with dismissing AB de Villiers (13) and Duminy (2).
South African all rounder Vernon Philander had a good day with both with the ball and the bat too.
He took 4 wickets earlier in the first session and then in the last session he scored 48 not out.
At the close of the Day's play, Faf du Plesis (17) and Philander (48) were their at the crease.
