The wait continues for James Anderson who is now on 599 after dismissing Abid Ali at the start of the final hour of the day. Pakistan offered some strong resistance against the English attack with the opening pair of Shan Masood and Abid stitching a gritty 49-run stand before rain washed out the entire afternoon session. On returning, Stuart Broad bamboozled Masood before another gritty stand, between captain Azhar Ali and Abid, frustrated the hosts. Anderson, however, struck plumb on Abid's pad to reach to 599. Bad light once again made Anderson wait as an early stumps was called by the umpires. Pakistan still 210 runs behind with Azhar and Babar on strike.
