Sri Lanka defeating South Africa and Australia beating New Zealand have qualified for the semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup on Sunday.
In the third quarter-finals, Sri Lanka batted first and amassed 293 runs of eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs against South Africa.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa played a magnificent innings of 79 runs for Sri Lanka.
South Africa were asked to chase a target of 292 runs in 49 overs under D/L method but they could not achieve the difficult target and were bundled out for 145.
Thus, Sri Lanka with a 146-run victory entered into the semi-final of the tournament.
In the other quarter-final played the same day, Australia ousted hosts New Zealand by 62 runs to reach the semi-final.
The first semi-final will be played tomorrow between Pakistan and West Indies.
