Know Pravin Tambe , the Oldest Cricketer to play an IPL match

New Delhi: The seventh edition of the cash rich Indian Premiere League has begun and is already making headlines with some exceptional performance by the individual players. The t20 which is the latest version of cricket is touted be a game played by youngsters. It is said to be the fast and furious version of cricket. But there are some old war horses that are proving this to be just a myth. Pravin Tambe , from Rajasthan Royals has become the oldest player to play in an IPL match. At 42 years 192 days, Pravin Tambe has become the oldest player to have appeared in an IPL game. The earlier record of being the oldest player playing in an IPL match was hold by a Rajasthan Royals player and it was slow left-arm chinaman bowler Brad Hogg who had played his last IPL match at the age of 42 years 86 days for Rajasthan Royals last year. Pravin Tambe as a player did not played for his city and he was selected by the Rajasthan Royals team management while he was playing in the local Kanga league. He also did not played any first class cricket .The former skipper of Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid said that it requires special motivation for a player at his age to continue play and enjoy the game. At this stage cricketers generally hang their boots and look ahead what to do post retirement. He received his maiden call for Mumbai cricket team squad in 2013–14 Ranji Trophy and made Debut in Next Round vs Odisha. He made his IPL debut in 2013 where he played against Delhi Daredevils. Till date he has played nine matches in which he took thirteen wickets. Tambe's best bowling performance was in a match in which he took four wickets by giving only fifteen runs. He is pretty economical in his bowling. He has bowling economy of under six at 5.55
