Know Bhuvneshwar Kumar: The rising star of Indian cricket

New Delhi: On July 11, 2013 India won the tri-series after beating Sri Lanka by one wicket in a thrilling final in Port of Spain.This win has finally helped India to retain its top position in the ICC ODI rankings.This series has also brought into the limelight another rising star of Indian cricket, Bhuvneshwar Kumar. It was on July 9th that Bhuvneshwar posted his career best figures of 4-8 against Sri Lanka and throughout the series he has made a good contribution .Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a right-arm medium-fast bowler and a right-handed batsman, He plays for Uttar Pradesh and Pune Warriors India at domestic level.He is basically from Bulandshahr, UP and lives in Meerut. .Kumar made his debut in first-class cricket at the age of 17 against Bengal. In the 2008/09 season, he became the first bowler to dismiss Sachin Tendulkar for a duck in first-class cricket.He made his debut in international cricket with T20 series against Pakistan at Bengaluru on 28 December 2012. His ODI debut was also against Pakistan on 30 December 2012.Later on 22 February 2013 he made his test debut against Auatralia. He has the best economy rate in a T20I debut. He took a wicket in the very first ball that he bowled in his ODI career by dismissing Mohammad Hafeez of Pakistan.He took 6 wickets in four test matches against Australia in the 2013 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He also had a record partnership with MS Dhoni for the 9th wicket in the first test of the series. He has the highest score by a Indian number 10 on debut, 38*.All these records are enough to prove that Bhuvnesh has a bright and secure future in international cricket.
