Chennai, May 14: Paving the way for today's IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils, Madras High Court today stayed a Tamil Nadu Government notice withdrawing the stability certificate for all the stands of the M A Chidambaram stadium here.
A vacation bench comprising Justices M Venugopal and N Kirubakaran granted the interim stay on a petition by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association challenging the notice issued by the state Public Works Department (PWD).
The withdrawal of stability certificates to all the nine stands by PWD officials and the sealing of three other stands by city Corporation officials had put a question mark on the conduct of today's match.
Earlier in the day, Supreme Court ordered the Corporation to de-seal three stands with 12,000 seats in the stadium for today's match.
The Corporation had sealed the I, J and K stands following the Supreme Court order on May 10 staying an earlier Madras High Court order.
It had contended that the stands had been constructed without prior permission from the authorities concerned.
