New Delhi, May 24: IPL commissioner Rajiv Shukla and Delhi District Cricket Association chief Arun Jaitley today jointly met Law Minister Kapil Sibal and pitched for an urgent legislation for stern punishment against those indulging in match fixing, spot fixing and cricket betting.

Shukla later told mediapersons that the Law Minister has promised to bring out the draft legislation soon, and get it passed.

"We will also meet Sports Minister Jitendra Singh, who has also called for a strong law against match fixing", said Rajiv Shukla.

Asked why BCCI chief N. Srinivasan was not resigning owning moral responsibility after his son-in-law and CSK franchise co-owner Gurunath Meiyappan has been named in cricket betting, Shukla said: "Let Mumbai Police complete its probe and give its report. Let it reach a conclusion, only then will the Board decide."
