New Delhi: Indian Premiere League which is the golden goose of BCCI, has been engulfed in the controversies since beginning. Many records are made on the cricket ground but at the same time some off field activities either by the players or the non playing members seems to grab the attention of the cricket crazy nation.
The latest revealation by the Supreme Court in IPL spot fixing case has once again rocked Indian cricket. After Mudgal committee filed its report in the apex court, the names of key cricket personalities investigated by the Justice Mudgal Committee for allegations of spot fixing and betting in the 2013 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
This league has certainly now become more like Problem League for BCCI. Since the first edition in 2008, many controversies took place which shall certify this statement.
Slap gate: It was during the first season of the IPL in 2008 when two of the Team India's best team mates got involved in ugly slap gate incident. Sreesanth who was playing for KINGS XI Punjab was slapped by his senior team mate Harbhajan Singh who was representing the MUMBAI INDIANS teams. An inconsolable Sreesanth was seen crying like a baby and the cameras present there captured these moments which was really a low in the history of Indian Cricket.
