IPL 7: How Yuvraj emerged from ashes of World T20 debacle to conquer the heart of his captain Virat

New Delhi: Yuvraj Singh seems to be in the middle of a very roller coaster situation. The hero of 2007 T20 world Cup and 2011 world Cup had suddenly became the villain after the final of 2014 ICC world t20.He made a hell of a situation when he scored just 11 runs from 21 balls in the final and was seen as the main culprit for denying India the coveted Trophy. He was severely ridiculed in the media and heartbroken Indian fans who went to the extent of attacking his house in Chandigarh. Even social media was flooded with abuses.In the player auctions before the start of the seventh edition of IPL he was the costiliest player to be bought by Vijay Mallya owned Royal Challengers Bangalore. But Yuvraj Singh rose like the Phoenix from the ashes and grabbed the first opportunity that he got. Yuvraj who was playing the first match for his new franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore made a breezy 29 ball 52 runs. Yuvraj had a staggering strike rate of 179.31 He had five huge sixes to send the leather ball out of the park. Yuvraj hit an unbeaten 52 and shared 84 runs for the unconquered third wicket with Kohli (49 not out) to help RCB chased down the target of 146 with 20 balls to spare.From 62/2 in the ninth over, it was a Kohli and Yuvraj show. Towards the end, the duo hurried towards the target hitting a flurry of sixes and the Daredevils bowlers had no reply to restrict them.The skipper of thre Royal Challengers Bangalore and Yuvraj's team mate Virat KOhli took this oppurtunity to lash out at the peole who had criticsed Yuvraj for his poor show at the ICC world T20."Yuvraj got criticism recently, it's unfair. He has won us two World Cups (2007 T20 and 2011 50-over), he's a proven match-winner and it's important to back a player like him," Kohli, captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, said after his side's eight-wicket win over Delhi Daredevils in an IPL match here.
