IPL 7: Know the bowlers who took hat trick in IPL

New Delhi: The shortest format of Cricket which has been often been touted as the batsmen's game can sometime be friendly to bowlers also. The ongoing seventh edition of IPL has seen the second hat trick of the present edition. It was Shane Watson of Rajasthan Royals who has achieved this feat after Praveen Tambe playing for the same team.Shane Watson becomes only the third foreigner to claim an Indian Premier Legaue hat-trick. Watson's was a "technical hat-trick" as he removed Shikhar Dhawan off the last ball of his first over and returned to dismiss Moises Henriques and Karn Sharma off the first two of his second overThe first hat trick of the seventh edition of the IPL has been taken by the oldest player playing in the IPL. Praveen Tambe of Rajasthan Royals has taken three wickets from two legal deliveries to hand his team an unbelievable victory. Tambe took the wickets of Manish Pandey who was stumped out by a wide delivery from Tambe followed by Yusuf Pathan who was caught and bowled out by Tambe himself and Ryan Doescathe who was given leg before wicket by the umpire thus giving Tambe his first hat trick of the IPL.In the first edition of IPL in 2008 , a total of three hat tricks have been taken by the bowlers, it includes L Balaji who was with the Chennai Super Kings franchise at the first season took three wickets against Kings XI Punjab. His victims were Irfan Pathan, Piyush Chawla and VRV Singh.The next bowler who took hat trick in the 2008 edition of IPL was Amit Mishra who was playing for the Delhi Daredevils at that time. Delhi was playing the match against now defunct Deccan Chargers and his victims were Ravi Teja , Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh. The third instance when a hat trick was taken in IPL 2008 was by now retired Protease pacer Makhaya Ntini who was playing for Chennai Super Kings and in opposition was Kolkata Knight Riders. His victims were Sourav Ganguly, Debabrata Das and David Hussey.In the second edition of the IPL that is in 2009 total of three hat tricks was taken. Interestingly it was for the first time that same player took couple of hat tricks and it was a non –regular bowler Yuvraj Singh who is more known for his batting.In the first instance Yuvraj who was playing for Kings XI Punjab then was playing against his present franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore and his victims were Robin Uthappa, Jacques Kallis and Michael Boucher.The second hat trick was taken by another non –bowler, skipper of the present Mumbai Indians side Rohit Sharma who was then playing for Deccan Chargers. He took the wickets of Abhishek Nayar, Harbhajan Singh and JP Duminy to complete his hat trick.Yuvraj Singh who was just becoming unplayable with the bowl too took his second hat trick of the season when he bowled out three batsmen of the Deccan Chargers franchise. They were Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Symonds and Venugopal Rao.In 2010, there was only one instance when a bowler took a hat trick and it was Praveen Kumar who was playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise. Praveen's victim were D Martyn,Sumit Narwal and Paras Dogra of Rajasthan Royals.In 2011, it was the turn of the leg spinner Amit Mishra who was in the Decccan Chargers squad took the only hat trick of 2011 IPL was against Kings XI Punjab and his victims were Ryan Mc Claren, Mandeep Singh and Ryan Harris.In 2012 also there was only one instance in which a bowler took the hat trick in the whole tournament. It was Ajit Chandila who was playing for Rajasthan Royals took three wickets in three balls of other defunct team Sahara Pune warriors. The cricketers who got out to him were Jesse Ryder,Sourav Ganguly and Robin Utthapa.In 2013, there were two instances where hat tricks were taken. In the first instance it was by the mystery spinner from the Caribbean Islands Sunil Narine who is playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders team took three wickets in three deliveries. He got the wickets of David Hussey, Azhar Mahmood and Gurkeerat Singh of Kings XI Punjab to complete his hat trick.It was once again the leg spinner Amit Mishra , who was with the new franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad bowled a hat trick to now defunct Pune warriors. His victims were Bhuveneshwar Kumar, Rahul Sharma and Ashok Dinda.
